Privacy Policy — Birthday Countdown App
Last updated: 11th December 2025
Jayakrishnan PM built the Birthday Countdown app as a Free app. This Service is provided at no cost and is intended for use as is.
This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, stored, and used when you use the app. By using the app, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information Entered by the User
To provide countdown features, the app may ask you to enter:
- Name
- Birthday or event date & time
- Event photos
- Background music
- Custom settings or preferences
Where this data is stored:
- SharedPreferences (local storage) – for app settings, inputs, and UI preferences
- Local device storage – for photos, music, or files chosen by the user
- Firebase Storage – for images or media uploaded through the app
- App database – for storing event details
We do not collect this data on our own servers.
Public Access Note:
Files stored in Firebase Storage may be accessible through a shareable link. We do not make these files public unless you choose to share them.
No Login / No Account System:
The app does not use user accounts or login systems. Therefore, we cannot identify who uploaded which file unless a user shares the file URL with us.
1.2 Automatically Collected Information
The app uses third-party SDKs that may collect:
- Device information
- Operating system details
- IP address (may be anonymized)
- Advertising ID
- Crash logs
- Usage statistics
- Performance metrics
These are used for analytics, diagnostics, and advertising.
2. Third-Party Services Used
The app integrates with the following services:
- Google Play Services
- AdMob
- Google Analytics for Firebase (GA4)
- Google Signals
- Firebase Crashlytics
- Firebase Storage
- Facebook SDK (if used)
These services may collect data under their own privacy policies.
3. Data Storage & Retention
3.1 Stored on Your Device
Data stored locally includes:
- SharedPreferences
- Local cache
- Photos, music, and event data
Uninstalling the app removes this local data.
3.2 Stored in Firebase Storage
If you upload photos or files, they are stored in Firebase Storage. Access is controlled by Firebase, and files may be accessible via shareable links.
Because the app does not use login or account systems, we cannot automatically delete specific user files. You may request deletion by providing the exact file URL.

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Signals to understand how the app is used and to improve performance.
Google Signals may collect aggregated, anonymized information such as:

We do not receive personal data like names, email addresses, or account information.
